 Started by
David Hebert over 17 years ago, SPT was
developed out of a need for power supply
maintenance to improve network reliability.
Dave was working as a chief tech in a MSO
and needed to have the standby supplies in
his system maintained. Since
there is never enough manpower in-house,
Dave looked for a way to outsource the
maintenance, but could not find anyone who
provided this service. SPT was born
out of this need. With a carefully
planned program, SPT provides the most
comprehensive maintenance program in the
industry.
In 1994, when
cable companies began offering additional
services like the Internet, and increased
bandwidth demanded more power, standby power
supply needs increased 4 to 6 times.
Along with this came the higher reliability
which meant ongoing quarterly maintenance.

In the last two
years the number of standby power supplies
has exploded with the cable companies
getting into telephone as well. SPT
has been expanding and improving our
